Overview of 1.2
And now for the stuff you'll learn in this module.
By the end of this module, you'll be able to:
- Describe the basics of intellectual property rights and copyright
- Describe why "fair use" doesn't apply to open resources
- Distinguish between restricted copyrighted material, material that is licensed for sharing, and material in the public domain
- Determine the best manner (when possible) of getting copyrighted content to your students
- Find usable content that is in the public domain, and therefore free to use as you see fit
- Seek out permission to use copyrighted material in an open resource
- Describe the different Creative Commons licenses
This is going to take about 45-50 minutes, depending on your internet connection and how you like to operate.
